So how do you lose $10,000+ in 2 days?

Well... you crash 2 airplanes, that's how.

Rewind...

a few weeks ago we found out my dad had to get another surgery on his legs this time, last year he had sextuplet bypass surgery on his heart.. he's had surgeries on his legs before to clear up the veins and artery.. however now the femoral artery is pretty clogged and that needs to be cleaned. So this has been playing a burden on me.

Over the last 2 years my Mom's voice has increasingly gotten worse and worse and worse, to the point of it now being a whisper. The Dr's said shes horsed, they said she may have a bacterial infection, they said it could be a stomach thing.. over the past year she's been back and forth, well this week she was diagnosed with Spasmodic dysphonia which basically is a Neurological issue causing her brain to mess with her vocal chords. I miss hearing my mom's voice.. it sucks not being able to hear it. Well, there is no cure for this issue, however there is a treatment. They inject botox into the muscles of the vocal chords to "block out" the signal from the brain. After the treatments her voice will be back to 100% the only downside of this is, itls only temporary, she sould have to get treated every 3 months, once the botox runs out she will lose her voice again.

a Month ago, one of ym close lady friends found a lump on her breast, she was due to start veterinary school aug 9th, but she deferred just incase because she didnt want to be out of school for a while, in professional school you miss a day and your 2 weeks behind. Well, the test results came back - breast cancer :( I couldnt believe it.. someone who is younger then me! It was a scary time, shes giong to be starting chemo in september, she's been strong about it, but broke down a few times on the phone.. udnerstandably .. She caught it early on though, so they are pretty optimistic about it, which is a good thing.

I'm pretty big into RC planes, I have a number of planes that I just enjoy to fly. And after school let out, I literally went on a splurge and purchased 1 big plane that cost be about 3 gran, after I got that one I saw another one I wanted which was about 7.. Well over thepast 2 weeks, I've been a little stressed, and flying has been a pretty good stress reliever... well.. needsless to say I went down spectacularly..both planes.. gone. yesturday, the first of the "big planes" went down... I wwas flying it very hard and fast. I would come in from a dive (110mph) then pull up hard, putting a lot of g forces on the wing.. well, I pulled 1 2 many G's as I was pulling off the wings literally snapped off, they couldnt handle the pressue.. today I had a strange technical issue that cause my other plane to go down , fortunatly it missed a lake by about 50 feet.. so I'm able to salvage about $2000 worth of electronics and the engine.

That being said.. i'm just sooooo stressed and feeling some what bummed...i mean i know what I was getting into and I knew the risks..

I'm going to put the planes down for a little while, I'm not going to mess with them for 2-3 weeks as I just need to collect myself. Lately I've been really irritable and moody which really isnt me. Sometimes I just don't want to be bothered with anthing or anyone.. imagine someone poking you none stop.. after about 5 minutes you would get tired of it.. well that's how i've been feeling all day.. not the physical poking sensation.. but the frustration and iritation.. i struggle NOT to just flip out on someone, that's probably why i've been flying my planes so much.. cause it's just me and my planes.

wellllllllllll sorry for the debbie downer post! LOL I'll be back in a few weeks, back to my cheerful self (Except when it comes to REI!! haha)

Dennis

PS: Apple Cidar Vinegar is what i'm going to drink over the next few weeks.. it's supposed to lift and stablize your mood (or so they say, I'm going to give it a shot, literally)

Wow. I don't know whether I'm more surprised about the fact you spend $10K on some airplanes or the fact that they crashed! Sorry to hear that, Den! I guess you were taking out your stress on the airplanes huh? Way more importantly, I'm so sorry to hear about everything going on with your parents and friend. I pray that all goes well with dad's surgery and chemo for your friend. She's young and otherwise healthy and has a positive, fighting attitude, so she will make it through like a champ. Keep your head up and just pray for them (and yourself!)

Hang in there Dennis. Usually when we go through a down period in our life we come back better and more focused. I'm very sorry to hear about your friend and hope your mom and dad will be back to normal soon.
