Interesting Findings

I find that when I pitch potential clients "Save money on your current advertising" vs "Do you need a website" I get a much better response. I guess they already get a ton of website offers, but when they hear, would you like to save money while increasing revenue.

So far I have 3 clients lined up on $1500 plus $200 monthly. I have a potential 4th coming up but it's a hard 4th.

One other observation I find interesting.. is small business owners initially have a brick wall up, i guess they get pitched a bunch of products or services all the time.. but once you build a little repor they are very open and very cool to talk to, a lot of them have owned several different businesses and have a lot of insight on things.

untill next time!

Congrats on locking in those 3 clients! And you make perfect sense with the pitch...if you pitch the value proposition instead of the product, you've got yourself a winner.

Hey Shae,
It's funny how just a shift in a few words opens people up!

I love your Tweets BTW, you're one of few people I have "ON" on my cell phone :)

Thanks Den! I haven't enabled Twitter for my mobile phone yet. Sounds overwhelming! I'm already tempted to shut Facebook mobile down. It's addictive. :-) Looking forward to hearing about clients #4, 5, 6, 7.....

How are you enjoying your "after college" life? I know its shortlived since you're starting back again in January!

Shae, you know it's strange.

With all of this "FREEDOM" I find myself being more lazy then usual. I'm actually having a lot of fun ~ probably too much. I fly my RC planes everyday.. do alittle work here and there and that's just about all It's quite scared actually lol.

On the other hand, classes started up this Monday for my friends that have not graduated yet.. so it's weird.. not being at school with them, I find myself calling them all seeing how their classes are going and stuff.. almost like I miss being there! haha

Den, I have a feeling that you're in that mode because you just needed a mental break...you were working REALLY hard while in school and also doing REI AND running an ebay business. I suspect that this break won't last very long and you'll be on the grind again. Enjoy the lazy days while they last ;-)
